BUSINESS TYPES IN KOSOVA

Choosing the right business structure is one of the most important decisions every entrepreneur, investor, or foreign company makes when entering the Kosova market. At AMA IP-LEX, our mission is to turn complex legal information into clear, practical guidance that helps you make strategic, risk-free, and future-oriented decisions.

Kosovo offers a modern, investor-friendly legal framework regulated primarily by Law No. 06/L-016 on Business Organizations. Business registration is managed through the Kosova Business Registration Agency (KBRA) — a fast and efficient system that can be completed entirely online or in person through municipal centers.

Main Business Forms in Kosova

•Sole Proprietorship (B.I.)

Simple and fast to register, offering full control but full personal liability.

•General Partnership (O.P.)

Run by two or more partners who share management, profit — and unlimited liability.

•Limited Partnership (O.K.)

A hybrid structure with managing partners (unlimited liability) and investing partners (limited liability).

•Limited Liability Company (SH.P.K.)

A non-commercial presence used for research, promotion, and networking. Cannot generate income.

•Socially-Owned Enterprises

Legacy structures administered by the Privatization Agency.
